"Hey there," Jason repeated. "Leave a message after the beep because your just as special as the next person. BEEP!" I slammed my phone shut, how stupid could I get.  Not only was I slightly shit faced,but we had broken up two months ago.  Could I look anymore pathetic, seriously, calling an ex-boyfriend AND be drunk.  Now my phone was ringing. Imma barbie girl stremmed out, and wibrated in my hand.  Glancing at the screen, the name flashed Jason Bates.  Did I dare to pick it up, well I guess I did dare.
"Hello?"
"Hey Danni, you called." Shit  what do I say. Do I tell him I'm wasted? Tell him I'm stuck at Anthony's for the night? That I need him right now? What do I say?
"Yeah, it was nothing," but nothing didn't come out at all audiable.  There was an akward pause, silence insued.  I heard him take a deep breath.
"Danni, where are you?"
"Anthony's why?"
"Do you want me to come get you?"
"No Jason, I'm fine. I wouldn't want you to see me like this anyway." Why do I speak before I think.  Maybe Jason wouldn't put two and two together,  He knew Anthony and what he does.  No doubt he knew what I meant.
"Danni, stay there, and do not get near Anthony!" Leave, don't look weak and pathetic in front of him.
"Jason, I'm fine. You don't have to get me. Anthony is fast asleep, I'm safe don't worry.  Jason," I trailed off, every word more slurred then the previous.  And suddenly, his line went dead silent. CLICK! Damn it he was coming.
Scrambling off the couch, I hurried upstairs to get my hoodie and purse.  Stumbling into the bathroom, I found mouth wash and swigged it back.  Washed my face and ran my hands through my hair.  He would not see me at my worst.
Grabbing the stair rail as tight as possible, I clamered to teh front door.  Shit, which lock opened the door, and which one broke.  Probably woulda been easier if I hadn't drank so much.  Why was I even here in the first place?
Finally, the door was open.  Those three steps off the pourch seemed murderous.  One of them was swaying bakc anf orth, back and forth.  And the street light didn't help.  There was a car coming down the street.  Looked liek a green jeep.
